Objective
The objective of our expedition is to trek to Everest Base Camp.
When is the expedition?
The aim it start the chosen hike on the 1st of March 2020. We’ll meet in Kathmandu, relax and prepare for a few days, and then begin our trek. The total duration of the trip will be approximately 20 days.

Arriving in Kathmandu
Everyone will arrive at Kathmandu Airport on <a yet to be determined date>. We’ll have a couple of days in Kathmandu to recover from our long flights, to organise our park fees and permits, and to have an explore of Kathmandu’s sights.
Getting to the Trailhead of Phaplu
On the morning of our departure, we’ll get up before the break of day and make our way to Chabahil Chowk where we’ll try to find a jeep driver to take us to Phaplu. Phaplu is a small village 270 kilometres from Kathmandu, with the ride taking a long 10 hours. Most jeeps depart between 5-6am. The ride costs NPR2800 (AUD$36 / USD$25) each. There are generally 7-8 people per jeep. The jeep driver will stop every 2-3 hours for breaks. We’ll arrive at Phaplu in the late afternoon. Once we arrive we’ll track down a guesthouse for the night. In the morning we’ll being our hike to Everest Base Camp!!!

How much will it cost?
How much the trip will costs depends on which hike we ultimately choose, and if we decide to hike the whole trek or fly parts of it. Daily expenses while trekking will be approximately AUD$25 per day.

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu: 2000 NPR / AUD$26 (Everest)
